Sweet Almond Oil

Contains Vitamin A & E, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, and Zinc. Cleanses and removes makeup, reduces puffiness and under eye circles, improves complexion and skin tone, treats dry skin, improves acne, helps reverse sun damage, reduces appearance of scars and stretch marks.

(Further info- can clog pores, might be too strong and irritating for people with sensitive skin, may cause an allergic reaction with people who have nut allergies.

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Moisturizes especially with skin conditions like eczema, reduces inflammation which may be a result of UVB rays, promotes wound healing, antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral, protects skin, minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, calms temp redness, provides antioxidants, absorbs easily and is great for an exfoliant. 

Grapeseed Oil

Manages acne breakouts, lightens acne scars, protects against free radicals, moisturized and balances the skin, absorbs easily, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, antimicrobial and evens skin tone. 

Hemp Oil

 Helps to balance oily skin, hydrating it and regulating the skin's oil production. Can moisturize without clogging. Relieves pain, anti-inflammatory and supports a healthy pregnancy (it helps to firm and tighten skin's appearance and provides antioxidant activity to help promote beautiful skin).

Jojoba Oil

Keeps oily skin at bay as well as so many other properties. Moisturizes, softens rough cuticles, nourishes and heals dry leaves, relieves sunburns, antibacterial, boosts skin glow, fades fine lines and wrinkles, can soothe Eczema, Non-Comedogenic, and can remove makeup. For hair it moisturizes, prevents split ends, and may promote hair growth. 

Vitamin E Oil

 Moisturizes skin and assists in wound healing, helps in skin cancer prevention, reduces skin irritations like itching, Eczema, Psoriasis/Plaque Psoriasis, prevents and minimizes the appearance of scars, and prevents and treats fine lines and wrinkles.

*Always spot test and ALWAYS check product ingredients prior to use. Using Carrier and Essential Oils can have possible reactions/irritations just as anything else, stop use immediately and if needed, seek medical attention right away. If irritation does occur, you can also try using a mild Carrier Oil like Coconut or Olive Oil on soft cloth and dampen spot, water will not help. Pineapple Oil

Aside from its uses as a flavoring and as a supplement, pineapple oil is often used as a body oil. It promotes healing and evens out the texture of skin by stimulating the production of Collagen. It can provide nutrients to the skin and nails and is safe to use on the entire body. 

Sweet Orange Oil (Cold Pressed) Citrus Sinensis

 Reduces dark spots and blemishes via vitamin C, fights off free radicals to prevent premature skin aging, antibacterial properties help fight acne, boosts circulation in the skin, promotes cell growth and Collagen synthesis, shrinks large pores, and firms' skin (astringent).

Tea Tree Oil

 This is a popular choice for treating acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It's thought to calm redness, swelling, and inflammation. It may even help to prevent and reduce acne scars, leaving you with smooth, clear skin, removes skin tags, prevents oily skin, treats acne, antiseptic for cuts and scrapes, reduces dark spots, and cures acne. Provides hair growth promotion and with the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, makes it a potent treatment for dandruff and improving overall scalp health.

Patchouli

Hailed for its use in skin cell regeneration. Blessed with umpteen active ingredients and anti-bacterial properties, it facilitates wound healing, effectively reduces wrinkles, scars, blemishes, and other signs of ageing, and is awesome for relieving rashes and dry skin. With Patchouli you can have a complexion that looks vibrant and feels healthy and smooth. It is used to slow the look of aging by tightening and toning the skin, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes as stated above.

Tangerine

Particularly helpful for treating skin conditions such as irritation and acne. Its antifungal and antiseptic properties help to prevent skin infections and treat dandruff and dry scalp. It also visibly reduces the appearance of stretch marks and scars. It is bright, refreshing, and rejuvenating. Its brightness can help clear the mind and reduce nervous tension. It is also a helpful support to the immune system. Tangerine can help quell digestive issues such as a queasy stomach when added to a carrier oil and applied to the abdomen.

Lavender

Lavender is probably the #1 essential oil when it comes to healing skin conditions, burns and cuts. With its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antimicrobial and detoxifying benefits, lavender essential oil can help reduce redness, soothe and calm the skin and rapidly heal minor cuts and scrapes, as well as any rashes. It has the ability to lessen acne, help even skin tone, and reduce wrinkles. It can even be used to treat other things, such as improving hair health and digestion.

Vanilla

Vanilla is rich in antioxidants which neutralize free radicals and reverse skin damage caused by them and Vitamin B6, which proves to be an excellent remedy for treating dull and dry skin. It helps to slow down signs of ageing like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. It not only leaves your skin feeling rejuvenated but also smelling lovely. Includes hydrating properties that aid in maintaining the skin's oil production and keeps it well-nourished. Its natural antiseptic properties could even heal any kind of cuts or cracks caused by excessively dry skin. It can moisturize, replenish the skin as well keep it healthy. 

Purifying: The potent anti-bacterial properties of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil make it a very effective skin cleanser. It also acts as a healing powerhouse, boosting the regenerative process of the Epidermis.

Pineapple Terpenes

Both the fruit itself and peel are rich in Vitamin C, the nutrient that helps in boosting our immunity.

Pineapple's also have a very important enzyme in the peel called Bromelain, known for cutting down inflammation in and out of the Body. They also have antioxidants and antibacterial properties.

Corn Starch

Beneficial for acne-prone skin because it absorbs excess oil, helps to remove impurities from the pores such as dirt, dust, oil, filth, etc., and helps in preventing outbreaks. It also helps with absorbing into the skin.

Salts

Epsom Salt 

Can soften rough, dry skin, and exfoliate dead skin cells. It may also soothe skin affected by skin conditions, including Eczema and Psoriasis/Plaque Psoriasis, loosens blackheads, great for acne-prone areas, and helps with fine lines around the eyes and mouth or anywhere with fine lines. Hair benefits includes adding volume to oily hair types, and definition to dry hair types. Its magnesium might also nourish and strengthen your hair and scalp. Body Scrubs as well as baths relieve pain and discomfort, relax the muscles, provide stress relief, and helps to flush out toxins and heavy metals.


Dead Sea Salt

Improves skin barrier function, enhances skin hydration, and reduces inflammation in atopic skin. The magnesium in sea salt may also help reduce water retention (i.e., bloating) in the body. It is an excellent natural exfoliator that removes dead skin cells while also boosting circulation, leaving you with softer and smoother skin. Terms Defined

Aloe Vera Distilled Liquid

Aloe Vera Distillate is pure aloe vera juice collected through process of distillation and is recommended for creams, lotions, and liquid soaps.

Antibacterial

Adjective- Tending to prevent the growth or spread of bacteria. Noun- A substance with antibacterial properties.

 

Antifungal

 Adjective- Used to prevent fungal growth, active against fungi. Noun- An antifungal drug or other substance.

 

Anti-inflammatory

Adjective- (Chiefly of a drug) used to reduce inflammation. Noun- An anti-inflammatory drug.

 

Antimicrobial

Antimicrobial products kill or slow the spread of microorganisms. Microorganisms include bacteria, viruses, protozoans, and fungi such as mold and mildew.

 

Antioxidants

Noun- A substance that inhibits oxidation, especially one used to counteract the deterioration of stored food products. A substance such as vitamin C or E that removes potentially damaging oxidizing agents in a living organism.

 

Antiviral

Noun (Medicine)- an antiviral drug or medicine. Adjective (Medicine)- (Chiefly of a drug or treatment) effective against viruses.

 

Astringent

Adjective- Causing the contraction of skin cells and other body tissues. Noun- i.e., "An astringent lotion applied to the skin to reduce bleeding from minor abrasions or as a cosmetic to make the skin less oily".

 

Atopic Skin-Atopic dermatitis (Eczema)

A condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It's common in young children but can occur at any age and be lifelong.

 

Blemishes

Noun- A small mark or flaw which spoils the appearance of something.

Carrier Oils

Dilute the essential oils and help “carry” them into the skin. People also sometimes use aloe vera gels and unscented body lotions as carriers. Carrier oils are usually vegetable oils, such as coconut oil or avocado oil, derived from the seeds, kernels, or nuts of a plant.

Collagen

Noun- The main structural protein found in skin and other connective tissues, widely used in purified form for cosmetic surgical treatments.

Eczema- Noun- A medical condition in which patches of skin become rough and inflamed, with blisters that cause itching and bleeding, sometimes resulting from a reaction to irritation (eczematous dermatitis) but more typically having no obvious external cause, many people use it to soothe sunburns and reduce skin itchiness.

Corn Starch

Noun- corn·​starch -ˌstärch.: a fine starch made from corn and used in foods for thickening, in making corn syrup and sugars, and in making adhesives and sizes for papers and textiles.

It is known to improve the skin's absorption abilities and is often used to dry out breakouts without causing dryness or irritation on the skin. 

 

Dead Sea Salt

Dead Sea salt refers to salt and other mineral deposits extracted or taken from the Dead Sea. The composition of this material differs significantly from oceanic salt. It is rich in essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, sulfur, bromide, sodium, potassium, and iodine, which have been proved in research as beneficial to the body and particularly to the body's skin, hair, and nails.

Essential Oils

A natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or other source from which it is extracted.

Epidermis

Noun- The surface epithelium of the skin, overlying the dermis.

Epsom Salt

Crystals of hydrated magnesium sulfate used as a purgative or for other medicinal use.
Epsom salt is used to relax muscles and relieve pain in the shoulders, neck, back and skull. For example, by relaxing the muscles surrounding your skull, the magnesium in Epsom salt may help release a headache or migraine. This benefit can also aid sore muscles in the recovery period after a workout.

 

External

Adjective- Belonging to or forming the outer surface or structure of something. Noun- The outward features of something.

~Free Radicals

Noun- an uncharged molecule (typically highly reactive and short-lived) having an unpaired valence electron.

Further Defined- Free radicals are oxygen-containing molecules with an uneven number of electrons. The uneven number allows them to easily react with other molecules. Free radicals can cause large chain chemical reactions in your body because they react so easily with other molecules. These reactions are called oxidation.

 

Humectant

Draws in moisture from its surroundings into the skin and helps to retain any moisture the skin absorbs.

 

Inflammation

Noun- A localized physical condition in which part of the body becomes reddened, swollen, hot, and often painful, especially as a reaction to injury or infection.

 

Keratin Plugs

These occur in the skin when Keratin, a protein found in the skin and hair, and dead skin cells become trapped.

Magnesium

The chemical element of atomic number 12, a silver-white metal of the alkaline earth series. It is used to make strong lightweight alloys, especially for the aerospace industry, and is also used in flashbulbs and pyrotechnics because it burns with a brilliant white flame.

 

Non-Comedogenic

Adjective- Denoting a skin-care product or cosmetic that is specially formulated so as not to cause blocked pores.

 

Omega-9

A family of unsaturated fatty acids which have in common a final carbon–carbon double bond in the omega−9 position; that is, the ninth bond from the methyl end of the fatty acid.

 

Plaque Psoriasis

The most common type of psoriasis, plaque psoriasis causes dry, itchy, raised skin patches (plaques) covered with scales. There may be few or many. They usually appear on the elbows, knees, lower back and scalp. The patches vary in color, depending on skin color.

 

Psoriasis

Noun- A skin disease marked by red, itchy, scaly patches.

 

Photosensitive

Adjective- Having a chemical, electrical, or other response to light.

 

Rosacea

Noun- A condition in which certain facial blood vessels enlarge, giving the cheeks and nose a flushed appearance.

Skin Barrier

The outermost layer of your skin, known as your skin barrier, defends your body against a constant onslaught of environmental threats while simultaneously protecting your body's critical water balance. Symptoms such as dryness, itching, and inflammation can alert you to a disturbance in this important barrier.

Starch

An odorless, tasteless white substance occurring widely in plant tissue and obtained chiefly from cereals and potatoes. It is a polysaccharide which functions as a carbohydrate store and is an important constituent of the human diet.
 

Supple

Bending readily without breaking or becoming deformed; pliant; flexible: a supple bough. characterized by ease in bending; limber; lithe: supple movements.

 

Synthesis

Noun- 1. The combination of ideas to form a theory or system. 2. The production of chemical compounds by reaction from simpler materials. 3. (In Hegelian philosophy) the final stage in the process of dialectical reasoning, in which a new idea resolves the conflict between thesis and antithesis.

Terpenes

Any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants, especially conifers and citrus trees. They are based on a cyclic molecule having the formula C10H16

UVB Rays

Noun- Ultraviolet radiation of relatively short wavelengths.

Further Defined- Invisible rays that are part of the energy that comes from the sun. UVB radiation causes sunburn, darkening and thickening of the outer layer of the skin, and melanoma and other types of skin cancer. It may also cause problems with the eyes and the immune system.

 

UV Rays

Noun- Ultraviolet

Further Defined- Exposure to UV rays can cause premature aging of the skin and signs of sun damage such as wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, actinic keratosis, and solar elastosis. UV rays can also cause eye problems. They can cause the cornea (on the front of the eye) to become inflamed or burned

 

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)

This B vitamin helps diminish the effects of hormonal imbalance, which can lead to acne breakouts. Use B6 to take on hormonal acne, inflammation and redness. Vitamin B7 (biotin): Biotin gives skin a naturally revitalized appearance, making it well-suited to dull and aging skin.

*Further Defined- Vitamin ingredient vital for healthy-looking appearance of skin and hair care. Vitamin B6 may stimulate the healthy-looking appearance of hair and contributes to the efficacy of anti-dandruff products. In skin care applications, the vitamin B6 appears to reduce sebum levels and limit the area of oily spots.

Vitamin E

Noun- Tocopherol; plural noun: Tocopherols- Any of several closely related compounds, found in wheat germ oil, egg yolk, and leafy vegetables, that collectively constitute vitamin E. They are fat-soluble alcohols with antioxidant properties, important in the stabilization of cell membranes.

Vitamin C

 A nutrient that the body needs in small amounts to function and stay healthy. Vitamin C helps fight infections, heal wounds, and keep tissues healthy. It is an antioxidant that helps prevent cell damage caused by free radicals (highly reactive chemicals).

 

Zinc

The chemical element of atomic number 30, a silvery-white metal that is a constituent of brass and is used for coating (galvanizing) iron and steel to protect against corrosion.
